Religious terms being removed from security document

WASHINGTON - Officials say President Barack Obama's advisers will remove religious terms such as "Islamic extremism" from the central document outlining the U.S. national security strategy and will use the rewritten document to emphasize that the United States does not view Muslim nations through the lens of terror.

COMMENT:

Does anyone else think this might actually alienate Muslims? I lived in Egypt for a year and was very impressed with the peaceful, generous, uncontentious, accepting nature of the average Muslim. With them knowing my faith as a Born-Again Christian, we still had very enlightening discussions about our faiths. Most troubling to them was their faith being grouped with that very small aberration of their religion - the extremists. The recurring mantra was, "Islam is a religion of peace. Muhammad is a prophet of peace, not of death."

I view this latest move by Obama as another "pebble" to change the course of our nation. Don't be surprised if this language shift comes across to the Islamic countries as an insult. When it does, you can look for it to be followed by another American (Obama) apology to the Muslims. This action will once again posture us more subservient to those nations than we already are as a result of has bowing to Saudi Arabia, proclaiming America not to be a Christian nation, isolation of Israel, and failure to deal decisively with Iran.
